Sport at TSM
At Trinity St Mary’s we offer a broad range of sporting opportunities that stretch beyond the provision of the physical education curriculum. Our curriculum aims at developing the school values, kindness, unity and courage.
Through physical education our aim is to develop the children’s knowledge, fundamental skills and understanding, so that they can perform with increasing competence and confidence in a range of physical activities. These include dance, games, gymnastics, swimming and water safety, athletics and outdoor adventure activities, net and wall, striking and fielding. Physical education promotes an understanding in children of their bodies in action and involves thinking, selecting and applying skills, promoting positive attitudes towards a healthy lifestyle and enable the children to make informed choices about physical activity throughout their lives.
Our Physical Education curriculum aims to inspire all of our students to succeed in a broad range of sporting activities. We believe that developing confidence and enjoyment is key in us achieving our goal of life-long participation in physical activity. We believe it is vital that our students understand the importance of a healthy, active lifestyle. Therefore, our curriculum provides opportunities for students to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness.
