Prayer and Reflection at TSM

“…one parent explained that these embedded opportunities for self-reflection ‘help the children how to deal with life’s tough questions.’…”

Kindness, Unity & Courage

Prayer at TSM holds a vital place in our school day and in our children's lives. Prayer and reflection time across the school day is supportive and the children value its inclusion. Children are invited to reflect or prayer at every collective worship taking place in the morning. At lunch time the school prayer is followed by each class before they leave the class. The end of the day gives the children a chance to lead their class in prayer using the class prayer book found in each class's reflection areas.

Lunch time prayer:

Dear God,

Thank you for this day and all the blessings you give to us.

Thank you for the nourishing food we are about to receive.

Keep us mindful of the needs of others.

Amen

Reflection areas:

Each classroom and community area has a reflection area. These reflection areas are designed around themes and are changed every term. In the classrooms and outdoor areas, children are encouraged to use some of their time to reflect and engage with the big question that can found in the reflection area. Please see some examples of reflection areas that can be found in the school.
