At Trinity St Mary’s CofE Primary School, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to providing a safe, caring and inclusive environment where every child feels known, valued, respected and protected.
Our safeguarding culture is rooted in our Christian vision, Nurturing Minds, Filling Hearts, Flourishing Together, and underpinned by our values of Kindness, Unity and Courage. We believe that children flourish best when they feel safe, listened to and supported.
We follow the statutory guidance set out in Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) and ensure that all staff, governors and volunteers receive appropriate safeguarding and child protection training. Safeguarding responsibilities are shared by all members of our school community, and we work closely with families and external agencies to support the wellbeing and safety of every child.
Our safeguarding procedures include:
- robust safer recruitment practices,
- clear child protection procedures,
- staff training and safeguarding updates,
- online safety education,
- mental health and wellbeing support,
- and a strong culture of vigilance and care.
Children are encouraged to speak openly, seek help when needed and understand how to keep themselves and others safe both in school and beyond.
