Our House System

At Trinity St Mary’s, every child becomes part of one of our four school houses when they join our community. Our house system helps children build friendships across year groups, develop a strong sense of belonging and take pride in contributing to their team.

Our Houses are named after the four patron saints of the United Kingdom:

  • St Andrew
  • St David
  • St George
  • St Patrick

Each house has its own colour, and children proudly wear their House tie or PE shirt as part of their school identity. Throughout the year, pupils work together to earn House Points by demonstrating excellent behaviour, positive attitudes to learning, respect for others and by living out our school values of Kindness, Unity and Courage.

House Points are collected weekly, with winning Houses enjoying rewards such as extra playtime. At the end of each term, the overall winning House celebrates with a special own clothes day, and the House with the most victories across the year wins an exciting end-of-year party.

Our House system also plays an important role during special events, particularly Sports Day, where children proudly wear their House colours and compete together for the Sports Day trophy. These experiences encourage teamwork, resilience, school spirit and healthy competition in a fun and supportive environment.

Meet Our Houses

St Andrew

St Andrew was one of Jesus’ first disciples and is remembered for his faith, kindness and willingness to help others. Known as the patron saint of Scotland, he inspires our children to show compassion, friendship and perseverance.

St David

St David, the patron saint of Wales, was known for bringing people together and leading with wisdom and humility. He inspires our pupils to value unity, community and service to others.

St George

St George, the patron saint of England, is remembered for his bravery and courage. He encourages our children to face challenges confidently, stand up for what is right and always try their best.

St Patrick

St Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, is celebrated for spreading hope, faith and kindness. His story reminds our pupils of the importance of resilience, compassion and helping others feel welcomed and valued.

At Trinity St Mary’s, our house system is much more than friendly competition – it is an important part of school life that helps every child feel connected, supported and proud to be part of our school family.
