I became a Governor of the school in 2003. I live locally and have three children. I am a Partner in a firm of Estate Agents and Surveyors based in Central London and  have been at the same firm since I was 19 years old! My interests include all kinds of history especially military and political, art and architecture, countryside activities and all things geographical.

I took the position of Chairman of the Governors in 2010 and am also Chair of the Premises Committee.


Head Teacher:
Miss Lynn Anderson

I have been at TSM since September 2007. I enjoy all outdoor sports, especially outdoor swimming in all weathers. I have three nephews and three  nieces. I enjoy challenges and developing my ICT skills, and love Maths, History and Art.

I really delight in watching and being part of children's growth and development. I like organising! My favourite colours are turquoise and silver. I love all things Italian!

I have been a governor at Trinity St Mary's for the past nine years. As well as being the Vice Chair of Governors, I am also the Chair of the Personnel and Disciplinary committees.
 
I have been a resident in Balham since 1983 and have spent some time overseas; having lived and worked in Hong Kong, France and Dubai. I am married with one daughter and I work as a solicitor and arbitrator.

I have been a teacher at TSM for three years and was honoured to be elected teacher governor in 2016.  I currently teach year five and am also the gifted and talented lead.  I hold a degree in Government from the University of Essex and am an avid follower of politics and political history.

Prior to teaching I lived in Washington DC and Maryland for thirteen years.  I live in the local area and have two daughters.

I am on the electoral roll of St Mary's church and am a Diocesan Governor. I am a retired teacher of chemistry at secondary level. I was brought up in Balham, where I attended Ravenstone School, but spent some years in Canada after I graduated from university and actually did my teacher training there, though all my school teaching experience has been in England.

My wife Clare and I have lived in Balham and attended St Mary's
Church since 1985. Our two daughters attended TSM, albeit about 25 years ago!
 
I retired from a varied career in financial services in November 2017 and I look forward to contributing to the success of Trinity St Mary's.

Mrs Hayley Van Den Bergh

Born and raised in South Africa, I travelled to London in 1998 with my husband to see the world. What was meant to be a 5 year trip has turned into nearly 2 decades of exploring the world with London as our base.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Genetics & Virology and worked at UCL Medical School involved in medical student teaching before resigning to have my children. I am now a stay at home mom of 2 girls, one of which who attends TSM. I am Chair of the PTA and a volunteer reader at the school.
I love sports especially rugby, cricket, swimming and Formula 1 and am avid Springbok supporter.

Mrs Wendy Newall

Wendy regularly attends St Mary and St John the Divine church. She has been a Teaching Assistant for 10 years having worked in a variety of year groups. She loves helping young children  to learn, play and have fun.

Wendy and her husband have  lived in Streatham for 30 years and they have 3 grown up children. She has been active in community issues, she is a committee member of the local Air Cadet Corps and supports  the Safer Neighbourhood Panel. Her interests include ballroom dancing, country dancing and learning to play the piano.

She is delighted to be invited to serve as a Governor to Trinity St Mary's Primary school.

Robert Tobin was born and raised in the USA and had a vicarage upbringing in the American Episcopal Church. After attending Harvard University as an ungergraduate, he taught English at a multi-racial school in South Africa. He continued his studies in Dublin and Oxford before training for ordination at Westcott House in Cambridge and serving his curacy in the Beaconsfield Team Ministry in Buckinghamshire. Prior to his arrival as vicar of St Mary's Balham in September 2017, Robert was for seven years the chaplain of Oriel College Oxford.

I live and was brought up in Balham and attended TSM when it was St. Mary's School. I then went to Garratt Green which is now Burntwood School.

I have been living in Balham since 2008 and have been attending St Mary & St John the Divine Parish Church since 2010. I was appointed as a Foundation Governor in November 2015 and I serve on the Special Education Needs and Premises committees. I am an asset management surveyor.

I have a real interest in education especially ensuring excellent teaching is available for every child regardless of background and circumstance.

I have two primary school aged nieces who keep me on my toes.  I enjoy going to the theatre, visiting art galleries, reading and shopping!

Co-Opted Governor:
Mr Brian Sheppard

 

Brian has over 25 years marketing and communications management experience working internationally and nationally in the advertising industry. He is a guest lecturer at several London Universities; teaching marketing, public relations, digital advertising and graphic design. His voluntary work includes mentoring students within the SEEDS programme, and providing pastoral care to undergraduates and post graduates.

The Governing Body is required to establish and maintain a register of pecuniary interests. This lists, for each member of the Governing Body and staff responsible for spending public funds, any business interests they, or any member of their immediate family have.
