Trinity Saint Mary’s Balham is a Church of England Primary School, and a UNICEF Rights Respecting School. This means we warmly welcome children of all faiths and of no faith at all. Our sensitive and respectful approach to teaching at Trinity Saint Mary’s helps children grow and learn from one another in a friendly, inclusive way.

  1. A child looked after is a child in the care of a local authority or provided with accommodation by that authority in accordance with Section 22 of the Children Act 1989.  An adopted child is defined by Section 46 of the Adoption and Children Act 2002.  A residence order is defined by Section 8 of the Children Act 1989.  A special guardianship order is defined by Section 14A of the Children Act 1989.
  2. Children with professionally supported, acute medical need or exceptional social need for a place at this school, as decided by the Governing Body, advised by the Wandsworth Council School Placement Panel.
  3. Children who have at least one parent or carer who regularly worships at Saint Mary's and St John the Divine in Balham, or another Anglican church in the borough at least once a month, and children of other faith who want their child to attend a church of England school.
  4. Children who at the time of their admission have siblings who attend Trinity St Mary’s.
  5. Children living nearest to the school by the shortest walking route with street lighting as measured by Wandsworth Council’s Geographical Information System.

In the event that two or more applicants have equal right to a place under any of the above criteria and there are insufficient places, the Governing Body will use distance, in first instance, to decide between applicants, if applicants live equidistant from the school the Governing Body will draw lots to decide between applicants.

Children who are placed on the waiting list will be ordered according to the admission criteria
